Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take commissions?

Kasey LeRay Art does take commissions, however there is some communication required in order to ensure that it is possible, and how much it will be. The time period it takes to do a commission varies; it depends on how available Kasey is at that time, how big/detailed the project is, and your cooperation.

What do I need to do at the start of the commission?

In order for the commission to go smoothly, Kasey either asks that the project be paid in full, or split up into two payments (deposit and remainder), depending on your price of project.

If you need a commission and already have something specifically in mind, please send me high quality reference photos to ensure that I am aware of your dream.

Kasey will send you a Word document of the “Artist’s Invoice”. This form needs to be filled out prior to payment, and it represents all the specifics of contact information, description of the project in detail, quantity/hours, price (and how to pay). The project will be based on this form and Kasey will follow it. If you need to add or change anything, it can only be done prior to when it has begun.

What is the difference between oil, acrylic, gouache, and watercolor paints?

Oil: Oil paints are more expensive, they take longer to work with, offer a higher quality painting with texture, and last for a long time. Should not have glass directly over it. Can be framed with just a frame, or hung alone.

Acrylic: Acrylic paints are cheaper, they’re faster, and look good still. Can be framed or hung alone.

Gouache: Gouache paints are more opaque, have deep colors, and look clean. It may cause the surface to roll on the edges, however a frame will flatten it.

Watercolor: Watercolor paints are less opaque, lightly colored, and may cause the edges of the surface to roll up a bit, however a frame will flatten it.

What all do you offer?

Kasey LeRay Art offers many different mediums in her artwork. As for paints, she offers oil, acrylic, gouache, and watercolor. As for digital paintings, Kasey uses Procreate on her iPad and offers several file types. For digital designs/ graphic design (logos, ads, etc.), Kasey offers a package specific to your needs, and creates on Adobe Illustrator (vector images).
